Over the past few weeks in Reader's Workshop & Social Studies, Team 25 has been reading and learning about the wave of immigration to America in 1900s. Students were divided into research groups so as to become an expert on one of the following immigration subtopics: Reasons for Coming to America, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Angel Island, and A New Life in America. To celebrate all our learning, students gave 10 minute presentations teaching the class all they know about their subtopic by creating posters, reading passages from primary sources, and displaying photographs/images. In all, these historians rock it and here's a slideshow to prove it. Way to go team! This week the class started our new Science unit called Exploring Earth's Material. Here, young geologist are observing and investigating various earth materials more closely while recording their data/thinking into their Scientist Notebooks. Stay tune for more Science Action!
